Carbon monoxide tester

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that can be produced by the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels such as gas, oil, and wood. It is harmful and can be fatal in high concentrations.

During a home inspection, DFW INSPECHOME use a carbon monoxide detector to check for the presence of this gas. These detectors are designed to alert homeowners to dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. Inspectors typically check appliances such as gas furnaces, water heaters, stoves, and fireplaces to ensure they are functioning properly and not producing excessive amounts of carbon monoxide.

In addition to testing appliances, DFW INSPECHOME may also check for proper ventilation to ensure that any potential carbon monoxide produced is safely vented outside. This is important for homes with attached garages, where vehicles running inside the garage can produce carbon monoxide.
